I thought this might be of interest:
the 'Permanence juridique de l'Ordre des Avocats de Gen?ve', rue Verdaine 13 (off Rue de Rive, GE 1204) offers legal advice for a flat fee of CHF 60. They do have English-speaking staff; are open Mo-Fr 10-19h; and are great for those skirmishes (in my case a rather dubious-looking health club contract) that don't warrant full (read: expensive) counsel.

one question: do you know if they have specialised lawyers there fro specific topics (tax, family, etc), or if its more 'general advice'?

Av de la foret, GVA
Mostly in French, but they speak English.
So if you have a problem with your boss, or you are fired...come to uss!

Hmm. Frankly, I don't know. It's walk-in, so I assume that they are more on the general advice side. However, this being the local bar association (no, not THAT bar!), they should be able to put you through to assorted specialists.

Hi Coming back to this forum. Does anyone know of any specialised lawyers that deal with Swiss Permits - that are attached to residency? In other words Immigration advice. I have worked in GVA for over 4 yrs, under a Permit B - which needs to be renewed. I fear they may simply cancel the Permit B now and ask me to leave (not coming from the EU). How does one approach getting advice on this situation?
All replies and advice welcome.

By the way, I am not necessarily looking for On the Cheap advice, but rather for good professional legal advice. Thanks.
