Hi all
My boyfriend and I been searching for a place that plays live rock music.. We used to find it so easily in Singapore and would expected that same here in Zurich but sadly so far one is not found yet. Please help to give tips on where to find bars like that as we do not frequent club joints...

La Catrina is a Mexican bar that has live alternative/indy/rock music on Tuesdays and Thursdays, its small but entry is free (they have a collection for the artist during the night).
The bar is on Brauerstrasse 15 just off Langstrasse http://www.lacatrina.ch/index.php
There is also the Dynamo a small club but that's more for Metal and Hardcore but they host some good bands http://www.dynamo.ch/ a bit of a dive but its got character!
Hope this helps, I'm always on the lookout for live music nights!

I would definitely recommend La Catrina it has a great atmosphere, the Dynamo is a lot more oriented to Metal,Punk and Goth and they also have Techno/Gabber nights. I have heard that Mascotte in Bellevue also has some good music nights and they used to do 'Karaoke from Hell' where people from the audience sang songs with a live band. I never went and I'm not sure if they still do it! http://www.mascotte.ch/
When I get around to it I'm also gonna start posting the gigs I'm aiming to go to as well.
