Living in Vernier and working in the city center

Hi everyone,

I am now looking at a place in Vernier. Does anyone live there and work in the city? How is the commute, is it just a bus that you can use or a tram? Also how do I look up transportation to see what my options are?

Any help would be great!

Thanks!

www.tpg.ch

You can type in your address and your workplace address. Think there is a button for English.

It will tell you how many minutes to walk to and from the nearest stops and whether it is bus or tram

The commute in Geneva is easy and quicker than by car.

I must admit I find the public transport in Geneva horribly slow and frustrating although I've not tried the new tram from Vernier.

If you are close enough to the airport you may find it better to cycle there and pick up the express train and there is a local train that stops at Vernier near the end of the runway and then it is direct into the city center. You can take your bike on the trains for the other end.

Or simply cycle into town, electric bikes are getting popular now to help you over the hills. It is about half an hour on a bike from Vernier to Geneva. Watch out for bike theft in town.
