sad, but happens in every city.... London and NY especially...
Geneva is pretty small, and with Swiss laws im suprised no one complained of the smell....

It happened in my town (near Lisbon, Portugal), two blocks away from my house, something way worst: an old woman was found dead in her apartment and they only found her because she stoped paying (obviously) the energy rent and the company sued her. They won the process and when the police went there to open the door, they found her dead and the studies showed that she was dead for the last 9 years!
