When did they tell you it is out of stock? If its ta the last minute then you should ask for more than your money back! Gift services are implicitly time specific and you ought properly to have been informed they were out of stock at the time of ordering. Lesson learned and maybe worth a phone call the next time if you are short on time.

Now you have same day delivery considerations...you would probably end up paying a heavy premium to get something to her office on time.

If it doesn't need to be a grand gesture then would it not be easier to buy her something you know she likes even if its some nice sweets/ chocolates/ cake and wrap it yourself and courier it?
