Looking for a job!

Hello Glocals,

I am an 27 year old American and have just moved to Geneva in search of a possible internship/trainee position as those are the requirements of my visa.  I know glocals is not a job site, but I thought all of you wonderful people might have some worth while suggestions for me.

I hold a degree in Public Relations and International Studies.  I am interested in both public and private sectors.  I created a blog as well about myself and my job search in hopes to widen my contacts, but haven't had any job propositions as of yet.  Here's my blog if your interested:

and I would like to thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Cheers,

Jaimie

Hi Jaimie,

From conducting the same search as yourself, the best advice I could give you is to use Glocals as a jumping off point to broaden your network of people.  Go to events, join things you're interested in and through that make contacts with people who might be able to help you.  But if you like PR and international studies, you are definitely in the right place.  I met a few girls at a Glocals event who are interns at the UN.  Maybe try there?

Best of luck to you.

Hey,

Try the UN jobs board: http://unjobs.org/ it has vacancies across the UN at all levels.

I don't know i]f you speak French, but going for a Job at the UN or another multinational means you might luck-out on an English speaking position.

Good luck.
