I will have to say, it is often much cheaper to get living abroad insurance from the UK. About 100 chf/mo cheaper. I'm a US citizen and get mine from the UK. Works every but the US ironically. Although it does cover me for accidents while visiting the US.

Again, it's cheaper usually to just get them cleaned out of pocket, and then make a trip to Germany for any dental work.

...or simply go to France. But I agree, this dental cover is not worth it.

Be wary of any offer that seems to be a great deal. Premiums are frequently “revised” – upwards, of course – in the Autumn and you could be in for a nasty surprise.
I agree with the suggestion to ask around, particularly colleagues and expats who’ve been in CH for a few years. Their first-hand experiences can be invaluable.

Hi,
please also note that not everyone is entitled to the Swiss mandatory health insurances (Lamal) obligation.
Non Swiss residants, or Expats working for international organistations, (UN,WHO, missions, Ambassies, etc...) with a legitimation card, can get their health insurance through international health insurance companies, in which you may also get dental cover with a real coverage
Routine dental care, dental protheses, Major dental treatment,
possible covers 1500.- / year for dental, up to 3'000.- (or 5'000.-) per year per family with a higher coverage.
some covers can be complementary to mandatory health insurance for those who don't have a legitimation card.
At your disposal for further info,
cheers
