The washing cycle is not working. It only makes a sound but the drum does not move. However, when selecting the spin cycle, it does work and water is drained. It seems that the problem is only in the washing cycle.

Ok Gladys,

At least draining is working... :)

When your machine has no water in it (you should be abble to open the door), can you rotate the drum by hand?
If yes, when you restart a washing can you hear/feel the water goes inside the washing machine ?

If you can rotate the drum by hand, it can be the belt (wich is cheap and not too hard to change) YOu should have an rear or side acces to check.

If you cannot rotate the drum by hand (machine powered) it can be either the bearing of the drum (too bad! a bit expensive and hard ot change) or the motor itself (not too hard to change but expensive to buy).

If you machine is older than 5 years, think twice before getting a repair man (cost of a new one or 2nd hand one can be a better choice)...

Cheers.

Greg

Ps: Im not a washing machine repair man, I just do it as hobbies, so here are just advices form me... from experience! ;)

I was about to help you to diagnose your problem but I understand if you prefer to directly call a professional...
I googled that: reparation electromneager geneve and I've found them: http://www.avsdepannages.com/

You can try to call them and see what they propose...

Otherwise we keep going on with the "glocals diagnostic" :P

...but I need some answers to the questions asked before, especially about the water flow going in the machine when you start an other cycle and if go onto the spin cycle you can see the drum turning or not ?(you just said that the water get out...)

Greg
In case I can give you my phone in Private message

Fust electronic near the train station? hey can probably fix it, but as mentionned before, you should think twice and know the inherent costs of a reparation, as well the uncertainty of getting the thing repaired.

Details for the one in Geneva https://plus.google.com/101163181370241724195/about?gl=ch&hl=fr Might be easier for you to go and speak to them in person, than through a phone.
