Looking for a swiss rural countryside villages for visit

Hi,

I would like to know beautiful rural swiss villages close to Geneva to make a visit.

I like to see moutains, houses in valleys, cattle grazing meadows, and horses etc. A true rural swiss countryside. Please let me know if you know. I want to take some swiss scenic beauty photos too.

regards,

delalan

Just for your info, it's winter in Switzerland. You won't see "cattle grazing meadows and horses".

If you want to be away from the madding crowds, go up to a little authentic village, Nax 1973/VS. Really lovely with farmyards, chalets, fields, mountains, winding roads. We love it there - can recommend, mostly because no-one else knows about it - magic!

The Vallee de Joux would be a good nearby option but as another commentator has pointed out most mountainous places would be under the snow now, no cows grazing around.

Gruyeres is also very nice but further afield.

If your are interested in architecture and history I would recommend the abbey town of Romainmotiers or, near Geneva but on the French side, Yvoire.
