Very nice. Miss D, thanks for the reply. For a sec there I thought people in Geneva did not go to the gym and simply were naturally fit ; -) )
The BJJ place website look inactive but I will drop by and see if it's still happening.
If anyone is intersted in sparring or mma warmups, send me a note. It'd be cool to get a group going!
Cheers =D

Hi Lunali,
If you're still interested, make sure you check out www.migeneva.ch.
It's a very balanced atmosphere with 2 excellent teachers.
Techniques taught: Muay Thai, Maphilindo Silat, Kali, Jeet Kune Do, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Combat Submission Wrestling (so its well mixed too!)
All the best,
Michael

Also, I'm looking for someone to do some light sparring with since I injured my back back recently and anything heavy is out of question. Let me know if you or anyone you know are still interested to do this over weekends. Would be great!

Lunali: so what's the verdict, did you find a good MMA in Geneva place?

Nir: I did find an MMA gym that seemed to have multiple disciplines under one roof: http://www.academiedekarate.ch/disciplines.htm (a few min. from Servette stop on tram 14 or bus 10).
Also, based on the suggestions listed above, there are definitely a few options across the city for those who can commit to a regular training schedule.

Hey,
I'm a complete novice but I am very interested in finding out more. I work (as i'm sure everyone does) during the day, so i would ideally be looking for evening classes or weekend classes. Any recommendations on which one would be best for me to try out? I'm tough so I want something thats hard hitting! I'm based in Geneva so ideally I also dont want to travel far unless its the weekend.
Thanks

Yes Lunali,
The gym you referred to is very good.
There's a couple of gyms and martial arts school I think here.. I am curious to try out one myself..http://ladiesguidetogeneva.wordpress.com/work-that-body/gyms/

Hey there,
If you are looking for a website that lists different martial arts around Geneva (and other places ) this one is not bad
http://www.webmartial.com/cgi-bin/chercherclub.pl?art=85&pays=145&cp_club=&ville_club=
If not, I'm currently doing Wing Tsun which also offers a great class atmosphere. http://ewto.ch/schools/38
Best of luck.

Hi I havnt managed to train much due to class schedules but where I have trained and know about are:
There is a very good BJJ place out towards the P&R near the Douane its Part of the Alliance Chain so very good class great teacher ( Class is in French, Portuguese and a bit of English) I would go there for BJJ but sadly as I have a real job cant make the daft class times think they start at 7pm till 830 grrrr.
I found this one not had a chance yet http://www.igoraraujo.com/en/graciebarra-jiujitsu-geneve
And also this http://iconjjb.ch/
There are also a few boxing gyms dotted around but honestly none of them are really worth anything compared to other major cities where boxing is a staple.
Let me know if you make it down would be interested to know how they are I need to get my fat ass rolling again.

Hi all- just wondering if anyone found a gym they love. I'd prefer doing BJJ but open to other styles- preferable around Cologny area :)
