Looking for inexpensive room/hall to rent from 4pm Feb 27th to 8am Fri 28th Feb

Hello,

I'm organising a night-long Indian culture/yoga celebration on 27th February. The night is called Mahashivarathri, and it's celebrated across the world. I'd like to igve locals the chance to hook up with a very special celebration, which will take place in the Isha ashram in Southern India.

I'd like it to be free/donations event, so I need a place that's affordable. What we'll need:

* Good internet access

* Toilet facilities

* Deaf neighbours ;)  . . . or good soundproofing - we will be playing music at different times during the celebration

* Kitchen facilities would really help

* Central location is possible, so people can join us easily (from all parts of Geneva or different towns), and get home during the night if they need to

If you have any ideas of spaces, please let me know!

Many thanks,

Michelle

One possibility is to contact the “mairie” of the various communes in and round the city.  However, they are so much in demand that people book a year in advance, but you might just be lucky and take over a cancelled reservation.

Also, the rental doesn’t come cheap as you will have to pay for insurance, clean-up and fire protection service, etc.  You will probably also have to vacate the premises by a given time.

Another possibility is to hire a church hall but, again, the well-equipped ones are also much in demand and the cost not that much lower than for a “salle communale”.

Sorry to sound rather negative, but hope this helps a little.

Could you join forces with a local Hindu temple, who are probably also celebrating and may have premises?
