Looking for kid books in German

Hi,

I have planned to go to Germany for couple of month during 2014 to learn the language and I need to improve my knowledge.

I think reading kid books, the ones you read to kids from the age 4 to 8 years old, is a good way to learn vocabulary around an easy story.
For that reason, I am looking for someone willing to give (or sell it for cheap) his/her books , in german.
Please let me know...

Thank you
Greg

Have a look at the website of the German School in Geneva.  Maybe they can help.

There’s also a Caritas second-hand bookshop in rue de Carouge which sells books in various languages.  It’s in a passage adjoining the Police Station at, I think, No. 51.  However, better check the bookshop’s opening hours as it’s staffed by volunteers.

Best, R.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think the outlet near place du Cirque is a book seller rather than a library –

?  However, I have occasionally seen a crate of second-hand books outside the shop, so you might find a bargain there.

Second-hand books for children are often in short supply because the original owners don’t always handle them very carefully.

R.

I've also seen kids' books in various languages in the big red boxes outside the Croix Rouge, which is on the same street as Caritas and Les Recyclables. So, a wander down that street is bound to be useful!

Good luck!

Thank you everyone for your tips and infos ! :)

I can already imagine myself in a German interview explaining that I can speak german but not  in a professional environment.
Nevertheless, I can always step out by telling them some Cinderella or Bambi stories in German!! Why not....

:o)

Thank you !
