You might want to join the Geneva freecycle group on yahoo groups where people give away all kinds of household items periodically. Otherwise you can pick up second-hand furniture at any of the second-hand stores frequently mentioned on this site as well as on world.radio.ch.

I have plenty of items. I'm selling up everything in my flat at the moment. The large items on furniture I have left are:
3 seater cream couch
3 door white wardrobe
compact dining table and chairs
large mirrors
solid wood bedside cabinet
