Mass Car Glass Breakage on David Dufour Parking

This night my car glass was broken. It happened on David Dufour Parking on -3 floor.

It is at least 4th case I observe during this month. And, after looking at the floor, I understand, that it is good tradition to break glasses in this parking. Floor looks like Milky Way :) Glass is here and there, and it seems, that cleaning service just  not able to clean it all timely.

Surprisingly, nothing was stolen from car (GPS was in glove box). So, either some sect is involved or they were blind.

Brief look into Google (parking david dufour brisé la vitre) shows intersting result

Entre le 3 et le 4 mai 2010, au 3ème sous-sol du parking David-Dufour, il a brisé la vitre arrière du d'une VW Golf

Between 3 and 4 May 2010, the third basement parking David-Dufour, he broke the rear window of aVW Golf

For me it means, that breakages happen there at least since 2010.

When you enter the parking, there is "Video Surveilance" warning. In reality it means 2 security cameras in front of Payment boxes and 1 camera on -6th floor (bottom one, least populated).

There is even proud plate with the name of the company, which ensures "security" of the place: "IVS - Societe de Securite S.A. 022 312 12 12". Surely, on the floor without cameras ;)

In my opinion, it is quite clear sign, that things, that happen since 2010 (at least) don't bother "Fondation des Parkings" too much.

So, what...? :)

Being auditor, I don't like when people don't do their job properly. And I need your advice, where to start with pushing on "Fondation des Parkings" to increase security of the place. Looks like personally they don't need it and some external move is required.

What would you suggest, taking into account Geneva organisation and Swiss culture?

PS: Try to avoid -3 of David Dufour specifically. This is the floor, having most of glass.

The best way, according to me, would be to write to them and tell them your concern.

If they don't answer or don't take your concern seriously you can try to send article or make the news paper ''20 minutes'' writting an article about it.

Another way would be to contact http://www.bonasavoir.ch/ which is a monthly issue which give advice and tips about stores and compagny but also help customer who have problem with compagnies. They can advice you or contact the ''fondation des parkings'' by themselves. If you understand Frech I would advice you to take time on their website then contact them.

After you also can write a petition and collecte signatures of people who agree with your concern and then send it to the fondation. --YOu could do it before sending the first letter to give better credibility to your concern

One thing which is sure is that the fondation cannot be taken responsible for any damage on the cars parked so you don't have legal basis to make them change. It's why the way of ''Bon a savoir'' or ''20minute'' can be good ways cause they don't want to loose their reputation.

One last thing is that ''Fondation des parking'' has the monopole of the parkings in Geneva and when we know how difficult it is to find a parc place in Geneva they're are not worry about loosing ''custumers''... It's not a good point for you unfortunately.

probably others people have more advice than me but it's what I would do. :)

Group up and help (lobby) your politicians to make the law work correctly (for the group, which, in this case, will benefit all costumers). That's effective. Appealing to the monopoly holder's good side, on the other hand..  ?
