Maternity Nurses - advice/ help please
Hi,

just wondering if anyone had any tips on hiring a maternity nurse here (we're in Geneva but they normally travel).

We'd be looking for one for 4-6 weeks in November.

Has anyone got any personal recommendations or knows of a reputable agency?

Would there be complicated work permit considerations if we brought one over from the UK?

Any/ all help would be graefully received,

Simon (& Nabila & peanut)

Hi Simon,

In Geneva to ensure that you have no issues with tax or work permit, shall you want to have this done 'legally' best is to talk to the townhall - they have services for daycare and could put you in contact with someone in their network.

On the other hand, shall you prefer to do it independently, I can only recommand you do it with someone who holds a work permit already. To ensure AVS and tax coverage the eawsiest way possible, pay that person with the 'Cheques Services' as this covers all 'employer' charges necessary. You can heve the details on the Cheque Service either at your commune or on the website http://www.geneve.ch/ocirt/relation_travail/ChequeService.asp or the official website http://www.cheques-emploi.ch/ (in French)

Hope it helps somehow. Take care.
