Mattresses - sprung not foam
Is Switzerland the worst place in world for finding sprung mattresses? Saw a few in Lausanne but very expensive. Had to resort to buying a cheapish foam mattress for my daughter's bed.And what about the price of beds they do not even include the board/slats/springy thing that supports the mattress. Rant over. Seriuosly have the Swiss got any idea about bedding?

Go to Ikea in Aubonne next to Lausanne. They have inexpensive sprung matrasses. In swiss measurements of course. I had one from them recently before I moved to Geneva. They are quite ok. Check online first.

I must open my eyes more as I've been to ikea several times and not noticed mattresses at all. Ikea's a bit maze-like though isn't it

Well, you're right. It is not a terribly good overview. But the really nice things are all those combinations you can make. Hidden gems. Maybe that's the secret about it.

About the matrasses. I slept on sprung until recently (fromikea) and now on latex. It is terribly cosy and consts in 140x200 around 700SFr. So not the cheapest on earth. I was told latex stays the same from day one till 27 years. Additionally you can exchange the matrass within 3 months, even used. No explanation needed. Good option thus.

Have fun. Don't go there on a saturday.

Yes they do, and make the most comfortable latex mattresses. For me, spring mattresses are from the faraway past...

Some top brands are bicoflex and swissflex. They have everything from basic to deluxe.
