Mountain Biking partner

I've been in Geneva a few months after moving over from Australia and I'm looking for a mountain biking partner.  I have medium fitness at the moment as I'm still recovering from face planting going "endo".  I have several years experience (read "broken bones") riding XC and all mountain.  I'm looking to explore the trails around geneva.  Shoot me a message if you're keen.

Basically exact same story here, including the broken bones (but I moved from the US)....   Just getting a car so will be more mobile getting to trails.  Definitely interested in joining any group heading out!

Just to let you know guys that there is the Haute-Gruyere amateur race this weekend in Gruyere: http://www.openbike.ch/cms/

I really didn't want to go alone so if any one of you is interested I can provide transportation for 4 riders and their bikes. I've already organized a few rides before but had to sit out recent weeks due to an almost broken toe.

Btw, stay tuned for some upcoming adventure XC riding planned near the Aletchs Glacier and in the Lautherbrunen Valley! :) Anybody up for a two-day weekend adventure?

Costumes encouraged!  What would mtn biking be without a little dressing up occasionally?  Cool

Is there any good mountain biking aroung Geneva in the winter, or is it time to put the bike away until spring and get the skis out?

I'm moving to Geneva in the next couple of weeks and would love to get some riding in if I can

Yep, lots of trails lower in the Jura that can be done even with light snow on the ground. The small hill called Mont Mussy near Divonne also has some nice but short trails that are good for off/early season training. Just settle in, we'll show you some nice trails. :)

Another try for getting a group out to mtb this weekend....  Anyone heading out, or interested in riding Sunday afternoon?  I'm game for just exploring trails in the Crozet area if nothing else.

I'm assuming we don't have many weekends like this left in the season without snow on the trails.  Let's take advantage of it!

Hi, my need is somewhat different and really not something any of you should care about. I am a filmmaker and here in teh Alps writing for my next project which I will shoot in January/Feb. So I am desperate to know and see as much of the mountains and hiking biking trails as possible. I am not a professional biker but my passion in filmmaking means I will stand on the wave alone if that get's me a good shot. If I could join any of these expeditions I will do my best to keep up and maybe minor speaking roles for anyone helping out:-)

Nancy: why don't you post it on the Thing to Do section, where it will get more visibility than on the forums?

Nir, I thought about that, but not sure it's a good idea to post a ride where we'll be "exploring" trails I'm not familiar with.  Would rather get some sense of the trails before leading other mtn bikers down them.  On a mtn bike, a lot of distance can get by before one realizes a wrong turn was made somewhere back up the mtn....   Smile
