As you can see I am an extremely cute (and modest) almost 7 year old shepherd/husky mix. I love living in Geneva but the one thing I miss from my life in Boston is being able to play with my doggie pals in a dog park. Yes, I know there are many places for doggies to play here+...but I have one bad habit...just one teensy weensie little thing. I like to run away...hoping my long-suffering mommy will chase me, and then I go kind of deaf when she calls me. Such a fun game! So...I heard that there might be a fully fenced in dog park in the area...perhaps Parc Bertrand(?). So if any anyone knows about this place and knows how to get there please do let me know. I might even part with that nice, juicy, drippy bone I've hidden in couch somewhere....Yumm!

In any case, there's a big dog-run in Servette, where I take my dog.

Thanks for the prompt response Nir. We actually don't live in town but in a tiny village few have heard of, called Puplinge. Let's say close to Thonex, so we will be driving to wherever this park might be. If you have an actual (or even approximate) street address I can use my GPS. Of course we'll need parking too. Also, this park close to you is fully fenced in right? Because she will take off...and I don't fancy going around the neighborhood calling out to her, leash in hand. People tend to think I'm sort off batty when I do that. *She's talking to an invisible dog* or whatever that would be in French. :D

You're so gorgeous, I'm surprised someone hasn't run off with you while you're playing hide and seek with your Mom.. so.. to be safe and still enjoy your romps with other four leggers, tell her to take you to Parc Bertrand on the Rte de Florissant side. There is a Coop just before the park with underground parking.
There is an enclosed area just for you cuties. I used to take a friends golden retriever (Open) there over lunch last year. Open has now gone to doggie Heaven and I miss him very much :crying:
Have fun making new friends and remember to play nice!

Thanks Lannah. I will definitely check this park out over the weekend. Naina will be a very happy (and tired out) doggie too. Sorry about Open. It's always sad to lose a pet. Take care.

The dog run I was refering to in a small park (not sure of the name) in chemin colladon, in servette.
Drop me a line if you plan to bring Naina there. We live 2 minutes away, and we'll bring out dog (a sweet little poodle, Aprodite) too.

Hey, that sounds great Nir. Are you guys going to be around this weekend? I'm a sucker for little dogs....though Naina isn't a little one, sadly. I might check both these dog parks out and see which one is more convenient.

do you have a car? There is a great dog park at Genthod that is a huge open field park, woods. also the Port de Crans allows you o take your dog on the leash and then when you get to the little beach bit you can let your dog off to swim.

I saw this thread pop up again. If your friend's dog is not reliable off-leash (like mine) then I really recommend the all-fenced dog park within the Parc Bertrand by Florissant. We go there often and the dog has a great time.

We liked Genthod very much and I would love to meet sometime. My dog, Bailey, a Labrador cross is 5 months and just at the age where he really wants a friend to play with! We are away for a few weeks but perhaps on our return we could arrange to meet up one weekend.
