Need advice for apartment searching on the French side of the border

Hello!

I´m looking for an apartment on the French side of the border (whichever side). I want to go by bike to Geneva, +/- 30 minutes ride each way is what I had in mind.

What are areas that I should look in to? What are areas to stay away from?

What sites should I search through?

I appreciate all advice! :)

Depends where you work. The Airport to the Acacias P+R is 30 minutes by bike so if you lived in Ferney it would be more like 45 minutes. Ferney into the town center involves the Saconnex "Everest" :-).

I used to do St Julien to Acacias in about 20 minutes. It would also be possible from Collonges/Archamps in the same time. The difference being the St Ju. Route is feasible all year round but I wouldn't want to cycle after dark up to Collonges on the main roads (I know there are some bike routes).

Hi,

I live in Chens sur Leman (near Hermance) and cycle to Stand every day although the winter months are pretty gtim as past Vesenaz there are not street lights (but there is also a bus when its very cold / wet / i cany be bothered!). As long as you have a car to get to Hermance its an easy commute by bus.
