Nerver travel with OUIBus (ex IDBus)

We were supposed spend a weekend with my girlfriend in Paris. OUIBUS was not there at the schedule time. They left us waiting at night without a shelter or even a place to seat. It started raining, waited 5+ hours and bus never arrived, so we couldn't travel to Paris.

I spent 170EUR in tickets. Customer Service replied only after 5 days with a voucher for 19EUR!

I would like to ask people if this what you would expect

what can I do? Any advice?

Contact the Swiss consumer protection agency or its French equivalent. But first read what the general terms & conditions say about the cancellations etc., how they were supposed to inform you in case of an accident etc. With these intl buses there is always a risk of an unexpected breakdown and then late arrival.

But anyhow, I think you should look at this:

http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/passenger-rights/bus-and-coach/index_en.htm

It does give you an overview of your right and their obligations from EU legal point of view. Since the coach was supposed to go to Paris, the law applies to your trip, too.

Ps. Air France often has really good deals (CHF 79) on Paris flights. It is fast and efficient. It is not so comfortable to spend several hours on coach.

The same applies to TGV. If book well in advance, you can get pretty cheap tickets.

Good luck for next time.
