New TV - Tuning for French AND Swiss Channels - How?

We have just bought a flatscreen tv to replace the old style "box" tv.

Following the switching off of the analogue system we were using a zapbox with the old tv to receive the Swiss Channels. French channels still worked normally.

Now, we have plugged in our new shiny tv and the Swiss channels tune in automatically without the need for the zapbox. BUT ... can anyone explain to me how to rediscover the French (TF1, TF2 etc) channels? We are a bit baffled ...
