Terre des Hommes Suisse is looking for volunteers for the Walk of hope "Marche de l'espoir 2011" on October 9.
This event is a walk around the Paquis side of the lake that children
participate in. The idea is for them to walk up and down collecting
"stamps" in their "passports". It's a sponsored event so the children
look for people who will make a donation based on how many kilometres
they walk (or run!). This year all the profits will go to children in
Peru, which is why one of the booths is Peruvian-themed.
To make it more fun for the kids (and their parents) we have a few
booths along the way that serve food and drinks, and we also have the
stamping booths.
So far this year 2,000 children have signed up and will be walking around the lake on October 9!
We desperately need people (especially men) to help with the setting up on Sunday morning (7h-10h30) and dismantling in the evening (from 16h onwards) and some 30 more people to help serve food or stamp passports during the afternoon (13h30-17h30).
If you're talented at facepainting (or maybe just painting?), we also really need you all day!
Food and drinks will be provided for all the volunteers.
