I was just wondering if anyone had any tips about the open vineyards day in particular how you actually get there/get around and any particular vineyards to try and just general tips and stuff.

There are trains to La Plaine I believe and then there are busses from there that go around all the vineyards. Cycling is a good option - depending on how much will be drunk.
Busses get pretty busy later in the day.
Dardagny has about 9 vineyards in it so a good place to stay instead of trying to get around everywhere.
Satigny and Russin both good too but smaller.
