Optometrist

Hi all, can anyone recommend a good, English-speaking optometrist in the area. I need to get my eyes retested as I think the glasses I have aren't good for me anymore.

Also, what sort of prices are we looking at for an eye test, new pair of frames and lenses?

Thanks!

Geneva prices for lenses are outrageous.  You can buy your frames anywhere, but get the lenses done in France - for simple lenses, compare the fast shops to a small specialist - if not a big difference, go to a smaller guy as long as you feel he is competent.

You can visit Hopital La Tour in Meyrin, here are there website http://www.la-tour.ch/fr/votre-sante/decouvrez-toutes-nos-specialites-medicales/detail/specialite/ophtalmologie/

My optalmologist is Dr Ortelli Giordano his a nice guy and speak English.  The eye test cost range between 100 to 200chf, depend on what test you needed.

If all you need is to see if your glasses are still OK, then don't go to a Doctor but just to a good optician store. I use Visilab in Balexert (althogh they have centers all over). There's always someone there who speaks English, and they'll likely give you an eye site test on the spot. Will cost you under CHF 50.
