Pad Thai

Hi

Can anyone recommend a place in Geneva where one can get authentic and very good Pad Thai? Even as a take-away.

Thanks

I have tried 3 locally:

Globus food hall. Very decent, good sized portion, affordable.

Sawasadee, Carouge. Reasonable, decent portion, affordable/

Thai (imaginative name), Place du Molard. Reasonable, tiny portion, overpriced.

Would love to hear if anyone has found anything better. I miss the abundance of high-quality, mid-range Asian restaurants which I took for granted in London..

Thanks a lot. I might try Globus. I cook it myself but sometimes I'd like to taste another recipe.

You can try

http://www.padthai.ch/

I have not had Pad Thai, but the other dishes have been quite good. The service is friendly, fast and its reasonable priced (for Geneva).

Try Na Village, Rue St. Jean 57, 1203 Geneve.  Delish!  If you're looking for a sit-down, the ambience is good and they have Thai dancers some evenings.

The thing is... I don't trust their (the Asian restaurants and take-aways in Geneva) over-heated woks, chicken imported from Brasil or China, frozen/defrozen/frozen-again shrimps, so I usually prefer making my own, which is quite good in fact.

This recipe is very close to what I make:

I've had good luck with Bai Tooey (on this map, to the right of Xana: http://tinyurl.com/63bbfz9)  It's the only Thai restaurant in Geneva that I regularly see Thais eating at, and the cooks can make dishes off the menu if you ask,  eg. Kha Tom.

Yupa Porn has a quirky location, is run by Thais, and the food is honest if a bit pricey: http://www.restorang.ch/Yupa-Porn-Pochana-geneve-rtid1458.htm

The cooking at this place in Bernex used to be good and done by Thais as well. I haven't been there in years as it's a bit of a trek to get there: http://www.relais-thai.ch/

Na Village has cool decor, it's great for a beer and a snack on a summer evening, but I wouldn't go there for the food.
