Hi - I am actually looking for the same information. Ideally, a paragliding course in English close to Geneva.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Try Chamonix, or Annecy. One of best areas in the world for Gliding.

First of all you have to decide what to do: a swiss licence or a french one. If you are going for swiss one, then some schools in the region are listed here:
http://www.shv-fsvl.ch/fr/formation/ecoles/valais-vaud-geneve/
Just send them a mail to find out if they can teach in english. But before starting a course I recommend to go for a tandem flight, then you can find out if you like the feeling or not. The saleve is great for that and close to GVA. Chamonix is quite crowded, but also nice. In many of the ski resorts you can book tandem flights in summer. A nice site close to GVA is in Samoens:

I don't know any of the tandem pilots, just saw it last week and it looked OK.
