Parking / garage space needed

Does anyone have a parking space or garage space they don't use and are willing to rent out to me?

I have my UK registered car here in Geneva that at some point I intend to register in Geneva.

The problem is that, as the car is not registered in Geneva, I cannot obtain a Macaron.

I live in Acacias, and it seems to be impossible to find a private space without paying around chf300 a month, which I cannot afford.

For the past 6 months I have been parking illegally on or by the side of the road and have been accumulating parking tickets in this time, although it's cheaper than chf300 per month! However, I much prefer to park legally.

It's very frustrating.

Yep if the car is just sitting, a white free parking space is your best option. They are getting rarer and rarer but there are still some in the neighboring communes (Meyrin, Onex etc etc). Once parked there you should check on it at least one time a week as parking spaces can be "reserved" with a few days notice for deliveries, works etc and they will remove your car if you fail to comply.

Thanks Catalin,

Yes, I was able to park in white spaces prior to the end of 2012, when all the white spaces in the Carouge area were painted blue. Grrr!
