Pork Belly in Geneva

This may sound a bit strange but does anyone know where I might be able to buy pork belly in Geneva? I can''t find it in Coop or Migros, and neither of the butchers near me (Paquis) seem to have it either.

Thanks!

I've never seen it in Geneva; not that I've been specifically looking for it.

I'm sure they will have it at Carrefour in Ferney - they usually have a good variety of interesting cuts and some good offal.

Do let us know - I really fancy some now.

I had to look it up to see exactly which cut of pork "pork belly" is, but now that I've seen the pics I'm pretty sure that you can get this in butchers and good supermarkets in neighbouring France.

I found some good recipes too, I can feel a nice port meal coming in my near future...

Have you asked the butcher for  “poitrine de porc”?  If he really doesn’t have it, he should be able to tell you where you can find it.

Try Manor. My carnivorous partner finds everything there, bones, belly, oxtail. The whole animal!

Manor, Migros and Coop have it. As mentioned earlier, just look for "Poitrine de porc".

Coop always have small pieces around my area. I have not noticed the large slabs of belly but always see pieces maybe 30cm long x 3 cm thick x 5cm wide.

Cost less than 10 chf

Migros in Balaxert - at the butcher counter. You can get big slabs of it, with the skin on. You tell the butcher how much you want and they cut it up to your needs. Last time I was there, I got a piece just over 1 kg. Made chinese roast pork (siew-yuk) with it.

Mmmm...
