Possible scam

Anybody out there had any dealngs with a guy called Daniel Park at all?

Asked for some help with re-building my website and a few other IT related things and (possibly very stupidly) handed over a couple of hundred francs as an upfront payment with the rest due on completion.

He didn't do anything at all and having not turned up for a couple of appointments doesn't even answer his phone or any messages anymore.

Just wondering if anybody out there had any similar experience with him?

Thanks

Lorin

Re: Possible scam

I never dealt with Daniel Park. However, I did hire a free lance jewlery designer based out of shauffhausen. Her name is Rowena Murray, (you can google her)/

She is a young lady, nice, but I paid her 2,500 CHF for sketches for one collection, due within 2 weeks or so. Because it was christmas time (at the time), I paid her before , and then 50% after. When we met, she had some sketches that looked like they were done in one day , she said she billed me for "research".

I was a bit pissed off. Two weeks later, she sent me the invoice for the remaining 50% but I wanted to see what she did first. The sketches were so bad, and they were literally hoop earings, and studs for earing sketches.

I was so disappointed. She eventually got her friend lawyer to send me a threatening letter.

Obviously she didnt win one that one. Still, I lost 2,500 CHF.

Now this is interesting indeed!!

Could it be

1. this glocal scammer's id is

danielpark
" Daniel Parkman "

Male, 38 years old. In Begnins / Geneva (from United Kingdom)

2. that he lives in Yverdon and travels to Geneva ooh let's say 3 or 4 times a week to scam?..at his favourite spot Starbucks at Cornavin.

3. his blog is 'easymouse'?

4. and he has two different mobile nos? you text to one and he replies from the other!

If this is your SCAMMER, then try the 'report to admin' option and let me know about Nir  Ofek's (the co-founder of Glocals/Buy Club) comments..I would be very interested to knowSmile

PS - danielpark logs on each day...Yell looking out for his preys no doubt!!

Lorin,

You are the 2nd guy to report Daniel Parker, so we now suspended his account.

We recommend to anyone who was scammed to contact the police directly. If the police formally ask us for his IP address or any other info, we will help in any way we can.

Nir

After you received the threatening letter, what did you do? People would normally give in and pay her to avoid further trouble.

Well, I didn't pay because we had a "one page freelancer for hire" contract, and the contract never stated she would get payment for "research".

The contract also didn't mention that she had to design according to the description I gave her, or represent the description. However, common sense states that a designer would want to design according to the instructions given by the client.

She can't put me in the poursuites, because according to the contract, she wouldnt really be able to claim compensation. At the end she asked for an adittional 4'500 CHF , so in the end the sketches would cost more than the raw material (gold, platinum, and diamond).

Most people would give in. Thank good ness for contract law. Got her information for jewelry design services from glocals :(

sorry, i meant remaining 50% of the collection, not fees.

(previous post).

Doesn't matter anyway, I guess we all go through one of these once in our lives, better to avoid altogether though!
