Private Driving Instructor

Hey All,

I would be extremly greatful if you can give me some advises.

I am a completely new driving learner. I believe I need 35-40 hours of lessons til I get completely comfortable for the pratical exam. The problem is the driving lessons are just so expensive in Geneva. I have checked many driving school in Geneva would cost around CHF 85-95 per hour.

While I was in the UK, I found those driving instructor online and they don't belong to any driving school but they teach privately. This makes way cheaper.

Any one knows how I can contact driving instructor by not going through a driving school?

Thanks.

Best,

Zenya

Hi Zenya,

Unless the law has changed, you can ask for a "permis d'élève conducteur" after passing your theorical exam.

With that, any driver of 23+ y/o and at least 3 years of practice can teach you how to drive.

What I did is paying a professionnal (with the double pedals thing) for the first few lessons in order to learn the good reflex and then practice with one of my friend or family member in order to feel confortable.

Hello Yoyo,

Thanks for your reply. Very appreciated.

The main issue is that I dont have family here. I'm an overseas student. I dont think any of my friend would want to teach me with thier car.

Any other suggestion?

What about offering your language or other skills in exchange for driving practice? And have a look at the job offers in the Classifieds.

Does any one have a good teacher to recommend? Also if I use my own car, will there be a big differences on the price?

Thank you very much for your advice.
