Private Parking Obstruction: Who you gonna call?
Am not one to complain much but I have now had it up to here (right hand raised to my forehead, palm facing down) with being inconvenienced by people parking their cars right outside my garage and obstructing my free movement in and out of it. Worst is in the morning when am on stop-watch mode ... every minute counts and I've huffed and puffed my son through his breakfast to get out in time only to be stuck for 15 - 20 (even 30) minutes trying to locate the owner of a car blocking my exit!!!!! This happens 3/5 times a week. There is a big sign in front of the garages instructing people not to park on this stretch of tarmac.  I have written to both regies of my building and the garage and they responded saying they will work together to find a solution ... nothing so far.

On the verge of going bald from pulling my hair out in frustration, am looking to find out which authority I need to report these constant infringements to or someone/entity I can call to clamp, tow and/or fine repeat offenders!!!

Any suggestions are welcome!

BS

PS: Am usually a nice person :) ... I swear!

Now I don't live in Switzerland but everyone keeps complaining about how strict they are about rules and regulations... can't you just call the police and have the darn cars towed?

A good friend of mine is a cop...I'm going to ask him too...

Thanks everyone.

I will contact my regie about the arceaux and see if these can be installed. I had thought about calling the police but assumed they would tell me it was not within their jurisdiction ... anyway, last time i had my place burgled it took them 3 hrs to arrive ... so they were never a strong option. However, if they can call the tow company on my behalf, super!

I shall write a note also warning of my vindictive intentions to have any vehicle blocking my entry and exit into my garage towed ....

Hey,

I have just read in the newspaper this morning about a new system in Geneva...  You send an SMS with the license plate number and then you get all the information about the owner of the car:

Just do:  939 license plate number

You are charged 2 francs and you can do it from 7h to 22h.

Good luck!  ;)

Great - so now psychopaths can take the law into their own hands if they think you've done something wrong on the road.  Fantastic!  I've never heard of such an insane invasion of privacy anywhere else in the world and bet a lot of women are at the wrong end of aggressive behaviour as a result.

I would call the cops or even go the local police station to discuss the parking problem - they are a bit more human face-to-face.  Good luck!
