Private Schools

I am looking for an english speaking school in Geneva for my two kids, however it seems very difficult to get a place here. Does anyone have experience with? Do you know if you have chance to get in if you are put on the waiting list? What are the alternatives? Thanks for you help!

Yes, it is very difficult (but not impossible)to get admission into international schools.  I know many people who put their children on a waiting list and eventually (after a long wait) their children were offered admission.

I opted to put my kids into local swiss schools.  Schools in Switzerland are great at integrating non-French speaking children.

Good Luck.

Thanks for your answer, since I won't stay for more than 3 years I would rather not put them into the public school system. I saw some advertising about the "British School of Geneva" , it is rather small but they seem to have available places , do you know anything about it?

kinds regards

British School of Geneva is a new private school.  There are a few other new English private schools that have opened up over the past year or two.  Take a look at http://geneva.angloinfo.com/ for a comprehensive list of international and private schools.

Since my children go to local schools I can't give much insight into the international / private schools.

If you are only here for 3 years and your company pays for tuition, international / private school is the best option.

International School of Geneva

College de Leman

Both I have heard good things about.

I think you may find that some places become available from the beginning of the next school year in Sept.

http://www.ecolint.ch/ all these 3 schools are very good. Also CDL- College de Leman. I have lot friends who have been in these schools and actually never heard anything negative. I just wish you best of luck and I hope you will manage to get them a place at school very soon.
