Problems with regie in Geneva - help

Hello :-)

I guess I am the 537873th person to write about problems with a regie in Geneva. Sorry about that!

I wondered whether anyone can help?

1) I had 2 times water leaks from building in my apartment, which ruined the floor. On top, on one of these occasions, the police came in while I was on holiday and had to move furniture around and left scratched on floor. I made regie aware of this. They said they might charge me for floor scratched. Is this normal? If not, what can be done? I know there is ASLOCA, but was wondering if anyone knows the rules around this.

2) I found a renter to take over after me, and he wants to buy and keep my furniture, the lights, curtains etc. Regie wants me to put everything in "cave" downstairs. This would be so much work for nothing. I know of friends who could leave furniture behind and not have to move them out first. Does anyone know the rules around this?

Thanks, any help is appreciated!

I have similar problems with Regie when I told them that I want to leave. They blocked my guarantee money. I went to Asloca and paid around chf 90 to register. I went to 3 lawyers. None were good enough to give suggestions.

Then I met another lawyer of Asloca Mr. Roman SEITENFUS. I recommend him. He is available only on Monday and Thursday.from 4:30 to 6:30. Tell reception lady that u want speak with Roman. She will give u number and u wait for your turn. I wish u good luck.

Yes.indeed. it took 2 years. For that I paid about chf 90 + 70 and recovered deposit for around chf 3200. I am grateful to that advocate. I taught that rogue Reggie a lesson just because of his advice.

Good thing about Asloca is it is cheap only chf 70 per year and get advice from lawyers unlimited times.

Yes Hanifa. But not always. The best for her is to get Asloca membership. It is only chf.70 per year. Why take risk?

well ... it is better to take lots of information ... I remember that ASLOCa took 60.- francs. already 10 years ago so and after what must not be forgotten: each mail that he will do or send is 10% salary ... it comes to very expensive ... I still remember very well of my case ... and for my trouble I did not win ... good luck anyway ...

I won my case in Asloca in 2017 and my advocate Roman wrote atleast 5 letters. He didn't charge me anything. It was most recent just last year.

Going to get advice from Asloca is a good idea. Even if they don't help, you won't lose anything except CHF 60.

For your floor: I'm not a lawyer, but if the Regie is proposing to replace the damaged floor then it's already good. If you suffered more damages / time lost because of the leaks, and if the leaks are clearly not your fault, I think you might be able to get some compensation for that too. But you'll need to send the regie a letter asking for it. They won't give you anything on their own initiative.

For cleaning our your place: from what i know, you formally have to return your place to the regie in the place you received it, ie: totally emply of anything. The regie might decide to be flexible on this point, but it's up to them.
