"Motorists breathe sigh of relief as traffic chaos ends.
It's the news commuters been waiting for: the quai Général-Guisan in Geneva is open at last.
Four days since a burst water pipe caused traffic chaos and huge delays for drivers trying to get into town, workers have finally fixed the leak.
Battling against sub-zero temperatures, Geneva Industrial Services contractors had no option but to lay the new road surface in less than ideal conditions yesterday afternoon, using cold Tarmac.
The fear is now that the burst water main caused damage under the road surface, and that the repaired section may not withstand the effects of the 90,000 vehicles that pass over it daily.
Motorists are being warned to slow down in an effort to protect the new section."
