I have some circuit boards from old PCs and plenty of copper-core cables I am trying to get rid of. I was hoping that there would be somewhere that recovers metals from such items or at least disposes of them in an environmentally friendly way. Does anyone know where I could dispose of these items or recycle them?

well household electrical items can be taken to any electrical store in switzerland. part of the purchase price in this country covers the disposal of electrical goods and there obliged to take them. PCBs and copper wire is not the normal house hold good but worth asking i suppose.
for the wire perhaps a charity shop would take it, maybe some one wants to buy it
