My wife and I are moving back to Geneva after a 7 years break and are looking for child care options for our 8 month old daughter. Given the wait list for the public crèche is 1 year plus, we are looking at private day cares and the possibility of a garde d'enfant.
Does anyone have experience with an at home full time 'garde d'enfant' arranged via Croix Rouge? (this is not the same as the emergency service the Croix Rouge provides.)
We like the idea of someone coming to our home but also think the interaction a child gets at day care is important. We are eager to hear the reviews of the Croix Rouge garde d'enfant program, for example whether parents have been happy with the types of activities the garde does with kids, the demeanor of the gardes, etc. Apparently, with this particular program, we will not have a chance to interview the garde before we employ her for three week trial period.
Any thoughts?
