Renting a car in Geneva

I am moving and need to rent a car for one day. What is the cheapest option?

MissBehave is right, but you have to reserve (well) in advance. It's a rare time that you can just walk in and get a car for the same day. or even the next day.

For most of the major car rental chains (Eurocar, Avis, Hertz, etc.), I have found the best rates on-line at www.expedia.com  The rates are usually even better than on the company's own Swiss websites.

I suspect that is because someone like Expedia acts as an aggregator for a large number of bookings and passes on the savings.  It seems that many of the European companies (or European divisions of overseas companies) have yet to adopt the "Lowest Rates here" philosophy to web marketing?

P.S.  This also seems to work for Swiss hotel reservations, too!

They are among the cheapest in Geneva. Though I found out that low prices sometimes include a high own risk fee.
