Repair rather than throw (ge-repare)

I heard about this site on the local news and it's an good idea.

It provides the addresses of repair shops on the territory of the city of Geneva.

So if you have some broken stuff, perhaps you could repair it rather than throwing it to trash.

Only in french, but I don't think it's too difficult to understand....

Bertrand,

Thanks for sharing this great link!!  I'm a newly converted advocate for repairing rather than throwing away so this link is exactly what I was looking for.

It also shows that there are other people out there that value repairing rather than just buying a new item and adding to the already huge accumulation of waste that we create.

You may be interested in the "repair café".

There's been one in Pays de Gex this spring, and I think another one is planned:

The principle is that you bring something to repair, and people will show you how. The last time, I think it was quite successful.

It's a great concept. If you don't have time to visit a "repair café". I would suggest spending some time researching on the internet. Most of the stuff is fixable only problem is haveing the correct tools. "youtube"
