Rock climbing

Hi all,

Anyone interested in rock climbing?

I live in Nyon and I am looking for climbing partners willing to train a bit indoors this winter and go for outdoor escapes when nice days will come. My level is about 6a but i am happy to go with anyone.

Cheers,

Kickaha

I'm in too. But I am basic level and don't have material.

But I can compensate for that by bringing my car, plus I tell funny jokes.

The only indoor place I know of in the area is Vitam Parc. I'd love to tag along if you guys are going sometime! I climbed a couple of times indoor in the past, but it's been awhile, so I'd probably be a beginner!

Also looking for climbing partner/s.  Haven't got a car and live in Geneva but really want to get climbing again.  Any chance of tagging on with some people on here?

Hi all,

Thanks for the enthousiasm! My post was pretty old, but I am still into going climbing for those that are interested. However, I just have one set of spare equipment (harness, etc...) that I get provide you and only one rope. So it may be difficult to take you all at the same time.

At this season, I think it would be nicer to go outdoors rather than indoors and enjoy some real rock and the scenery. I am currently in holidays, so it's a good time for me to go climbing!

For those who are still interested, maybe send me a private message and I will try to organise something. I some of you have experience/equipment, let me know also, we could go in a little group.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Kick

For indoor climbing, Vitamparc is GREAT. It's just 15 min from GVA, and the space is top notch and big.

OK, carrying on the thread.  If there is anyone on this wall that is still interested in climbing (both inside and out) send me an e-mail.  I haven't got a car but I do have ropes, quickdraws etc.  Would be really good to get some climbing in again!

Andrew.

hi If you really want to climb is better to have your own materiel . best buy is in France in Sallanche which is on way to Chamonix ...shop named Au vieux Campeur . best prise and quite big choice .

ok for what ... it's simple for beginning you need to buy climbing shoes ,you can also buy a harness (its always better have your own) ,and need to find someone with everything else. . you can also rent  for start , in vitam park or try to ask in shop Cactus (Carouge , tram stop= Arme ) .

after that , all you need is enjoying climbing  ...  :)

I'm keen on climbing in or around Geneva and so looking for partner(s).

Been reccie'ing the area for a while now and have found all the possible crags and venues. I don't drive but know the best climbs accessible via public transport, but if you have a car then bonus! There's also the option of doing a couple of via ferratas really close to Geneva.

Please get in touch if interested.

Thanks,

Jonny

So who's up for climbing this week sometime in the evening? Also maybe on Sunday. I'd prefer to go outdoors, I scouted out some easy routes to get on accessible via public transport, within 30mins from Geneva center . I also know another site which is a disused quarry with a ton of short single pitch bolted climbs.

I've a 30m indoor rope which is good enough for these short routes. I haven't brought my rack over with me so we'd need quickdraws, and a 50m rope would be even better.

It looks like you guys are all experienced, but I'm wondering if any of you might consider taking a beginner? I'm in good fit (do marathon and hiking) and have always wanted to try rock-climbing. Would love to check it out, thanks much in advance!
