Rollerblade group or at least regular activity

Hi everybody !

I got in Geneva at the 1st of June and after talking to some of the people in the events and new glocal aquaintances I had the idea of a regular get together for roller skating.

I saw that there's the Monday night event www.nightskate.ch which is rather huge and with a lot of participants but I was looking for a rather smaller group where socializing and getting to know people would be easier.

The idea is a group like the runners GVA group where any newcomers will be welcome, newbies helped out as well and just a way of getting out in the sun and enjoying a good time rollerskating around the lake or in any places you know to be great.

What do you think and are you interested? I've played also ice hockey and roller hockey for some time so if any of you might be interested and know where we could play that would be also great.

Cheers !

Great !

As I've spoken to a couple of people on the glocals events I attended, some of the people would love to go skating but would actually like to rent the skates.

I'll try to find  if there might be any skate shop renting skates in Geneva and keep you guys posted.

Michelle, give me a sign when you guys are coming to Geneva for the outdoors workout and we'll try to figure out also when to do some skating and organize an event !

Have a great week end and a fun Lake Parade everyone !

Hello,

There is the shop Tranzport in Eaux Vives. You can rent skates there.

Great !

Do you know them?

I'll try to pass by one evening or this week end and have a chat with them see if we can "reserve" some skates for the times we go out. Like give them the date and time when we want to rent some then they'll keep them available for that day.

I'm curious also of the fees so everyone can be aware. Sometimes they might make more interesting prices for a group (but I'd doubt it... ).

In liner for me. but I'd say roller skates or inline all most welcome, the more the merrier !

Good idea for the skate park as well !

I don't know how many people are interested in free or aggressive.

I'm kind of past aggressive skating times(enough injuries)  but will surely come watch and enjoy !

Cheers !

Yeh, well once my group is up, you'll notice my comments and reasons behind what I want to achieve. I am also past aggressive skating. In Australia me and a group of mates would meet every wednesday at the local bowls - there were oldies, young guys...we were all just cooks really - rolling around in the bowls, listening to music and having a few drinks...

I blew out my knee two years ago doing a stair gap and it resulted in a knee reconstruction, so since then i am pretty mellow but i still love skating...
