Safety at night

Hello everyone,

I'm a student who is doing an internship in Geneva. I live in rue de Lyon. The thing is I work at a bar so I have to come home late at night (1-2am). I dont think there will be any transportation at that time anymore So I decide to buy an old bike to ride. It takes me 20 minutes to ride from work to home. What I want to ask is if it is safe to ride a bike at that time in geneva? Are there any big risks I could face?

Thank you very much!

Hi Pham,

I don't think there's much to worry about in your situation. If anything I'd be careful while riding your bike since cars will probably drive a bit faster (more reckless) given that the roads tend to be clear during those hours.

Or just be wary of <drunk> patrons at your bar.

Are you doing your internship at the bar?  If not, you may not have the right to work there .

Make sure you buy, wear and strap up a helmet. Lights on your bike.
