Saturday Ball : is there a parking nearby?
Hi everybody, I'm planing to drive to the party on Saturday and I was wondering if there's a parking nearby or if it's easy to park in the area

Thanks in advance

bad idea man, it's horribly difficult to park in that area, and you can assume police will do random alcohol checks because of the party. Cab is the best option...

Looks like a cab is the only option for me as well. But i have never used a cab yet here so i dont know. Do i have to book one in advance like in the UK? And anyone knows a nice english speaking cab company?

Cheers :)

Hey :) there's no english speaking cab company but the good thing is that you don't have to book in advance. roughly 20 mints before you want to leave the house you call one of the 2 or 3 geneva company and ask for 'en taxi a la rue ... xxxx - replace with street name and number'. they will say yes, or sorry we are busy and tell you when it will arrive, usually between 3 and 7 mints. And you are sorted. The problem with cab is that a ride will cost you most likely at least 20chf if not more.

So either share with other 3 people OR check the bus connections to the intercontinental to go and take only a cab to come back home. the 5 and another bus stop close to there ... check www.tpg.ch for connections.

hope it helps.

Yes it did thanks :) The bus to intercontinental is no problem. Is the way back after in 4in heels the problem :P Luckily i work pretty close so at the worst case i will call someone at work and ask them politely (you-intercontinental-NOW!!) to come pick me up :P

Or of course there is the chance of meeting a nice guy at the prom who offers arrange a taxi for me (yes my french is that bad!)

Guys,

Getting to the Hotel:

  • Parking: there's no parking at the hotel, and finding parking around it is not easy. If you do come with a car, we recommend parking 250 meters away from the hotel at the Parking of the Place-de-Nations.
  • Catching a taxi: call 022-33-141-33

Going back home:

We'll ensure there's taxis waiting outside (thanks for reminding us, Hoiling!)

See you in a few hours...(-L
