Hi I had similar problem , I think they lose too much their letters and emails.

after long fight they accept my insurance and cancelled the insurance they made.

the question is, do they accept your insurnace or they did not know about it?

some insurnaces from outside switzerland are not accepted ..so they subscribe you autmatically in local insurance,normally they choose low franchise :) , which means you will be 400-500CHF a month, however you could find another local insurance of 250CHF a month....and then change to it strating 1 Feb.

You cannot have 2 basic insurances. Only one is valid. Send to the Service de l'assurance maladie the prove you are already insured for health (prove is the insurance policy) They will ask the second insurer to cancel. In worse case the penalty would be of 100 CHF.

It would be interesting to call to your first insurer for to ask them when they have contacted the Service de l'assurance maladie for to tell than you are insured. They often wait a very long time before to do it. It's not your fault.
