Setting up a market stand

Hullo pals

My husband and I are interested in setting up a stand in one of the weekend markets.

Can anyone point me towards a good place to start finding info on how to do this?

Thanks!

L

Try the City Hall... Or ask the Tourism Office. I know it's quite hard to get one of those so best of luck!!!!

Thanks Sophie! I am expecting I will need to do 50 billion tonnes of paperwork and auction off my unborn child to do it - but it's worth a finding out!

http://www.ville-geneve.ch/fileadmin/public/Cadre_legal/LC21811-reglement-marches-2011-ville-geneve.pdf

Only in French... and a not so much fun reading... however you may find a few answers there.

I was at the flea market at Plainpalais today and spoke to one of the authorities. She informed me that the waiting list for spaces is 2 years. I asked if people can share spaces and I was told it is not permitted, although I know it is done. I also know that not everyone  waits that long but you would need some connections to jump up the list.

You may want to check the city of Carouge website. Their flea market isn't as frequent but might be easier to get a place.

Right, however I think the waiting list is for reserved spaces, for sellers who come all year around. I'm not certain, but I think there is a way to get a space for the day without having to register in the previous century...
