Should companies located in Switzerland pay salaries in EUR ?

There is the monetary crisis. And there is a big question !

As you know when a company sell its products in the EUR zone, the income is in EUR. The company is exposed to EUR. The company needs to exchange the EUR to pay the salary in CHF.

Should all the "Frontaliers" accept to be paid in EUR in order to avoid difficults situation like unemployment, unpaid hours, overtime. Do you think it is an ethical solution ?

A clever company will have calculated its monthly Swiss Franc risk (salaries , tax, rent etc)  in comparison to its Euro income ... especially in the face of recent massive (and dare I say it PREDICTABLE) currency fluctuations .... and would have got their CFO to hop along to the bank and take out a currency hedge position...

Obviously now the horse has bolted and its probably pointless in closing the stable door.

Why should the employees pay for the inadequate financial management of the company?

Unethical...and probably Illegal in Switzerland...

However. if you read la tribune de Genève today, you can read that a company is actually doing it in Valais. There is nothing illegal to it. The companies have the choice to do it or not. crazy no?
