If you enjoy singing in a classical choir, don't hesitate to contact our president. Our choir is called "Ensemble Vocal Orphée" (EVO). We perform 2-3 concerts in Geneva annually. We have tackled in the last five years major choral  challenges such as Bach's Mass in B minor, Bach's Passion of St. John, the Requiem of Gabriel Fauré and chorals of Bruckner, Berlioz, Britten etc.pp. Our choir has also participated very often in Geneva's Fête de la Musique. Presently we are rehearsing a very nice mass by Johann Nepomuk Hummel and even a Kantate de Beethoven (for choir and orchestra) to perform it next march 2012 in the Temple de la Fusterie. It is never to late to join us! We are a French speaking choir but are also multi-lingual. We have a pleasent and relaxed atmosphere and comradeship and all are welcome if they have a minimum musical capacity (able to read music notes and sing in tune!). We rehearse every Monday at 6.30 p.m. for about 2 hours in College Calvin, downtown. Sometimes we spend weekends together (fun and rehearsel) in charming countrysides. Our musical director, Matthieu Schweyer, is an excellent pianist and singer and is a well known professional. Look forward and sing with us, soon!
