Hi All,
The company that I previously used for help with Sky TV has left Geneva. Could anybody recommend a company that could help?
Thanks

Hi Roger,
I don't have any signal from input 2 which means I can only watch the same channel as I am recording and Sky+ will only record if it is is left ont he channel it programmed to record from.
I have taken the advice from various websites but to no avail.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Llucy

Lucy
I had the same problem, and it was a problem with the wire coming from the second input.
I disconnected the wires, and got a little sandpaper, and rubbed it on the wire. I then reconnected it to the lnb. Corrosion is frequently a problem with the connections.
The other thing that can interfere is some people have those connections that are flat that go through the terrace door into the house. This is a common fail point. They cost about 7francs=10 francs (try Jumbo)
The problem is definitely the connection. Try that and see if it helps and let me know

One other thing, switch the wires. If you switch and then you see that input 2 works, you have zeroed in on that it is not the LNB, but the wire connection to the box. Then first try corrosion. Last is the wire (they can get water infiltration)

the problem may be that you need to reset the receiver.
try taking out the skycard, and turning it off. then turn it back on and wait for the screen to ask you to insert the skycard. also it could be that the card is being updated over the satellite connection and there is a payment problem. this is what happened to my card when the subscription ran out. i could watch on only one connection and was not able to record at all.

i think you will find lucy, that your card is no longer valid. i know that by holding down one of the buttons and turning on your sky tuner it will reset the tuner according to the card....if it is still valid. if the card is no longer vslid, then this is the way sky turns off your tuner. this is what happened to me. a sky technician can tell you this over the phone at no cost to you
( not in the UK, but someone from here, and you know why :-)
if you have a sky+ receiver the recording function and 2nd input are turned off, this means your card is unpaid, out of date, or you have to leave your sky tuner on chanel sky 1 untill the new code is transmitted into the card (usually a few hours) hope this is helpful lucy.
cheers,
roger (alias, The Dish Docter")

We had the same problem. We even payed the guy to come and look at it(but they don't seem to be doing it any more)
Hubby discovered that it was the failing power supply in our hd box(none of the cables that we had just had checked out!!)Our hd box was one of the first ones to come out....thompson one...and they can develop this fault.
He tracked down a place in the uk that sent a new one,and he replaced it...and bingo all fine(also got our new cards!)
