Hi Daniel,

By "Sky", do you mean "ski", downhill on snow using a pair of long, narrow pieces of hard, flexible material, typically pointed and turned up at the front, fastened under the feet for travelling over snow ?

Or maybe sky diving, jumping from a plane with a parachute ?

A great place to start is Crozet and it is the closest place to Geneva. The prices are very reasonable and there is a bus service to the Telecabine.

Have a look at  http://www.monts-jura.com/fr/infos-pratiques-hiver/transports.html

YXou will have to wait a few weeks for the snow to arrive there but it is really nice and on a clear day you have great views of Geneva, the Alps and Mont-Blanc.

Enjoy.

Arf, iPhones....

As James said, the most convinient is Le Crozet, you can see the slopes from Geneva's city center, but as you can see, the snow isn't there at the moment.

If you have a car, you could go to one of the Portes du Soleil's resort, like Avoriaz, Les Gets or Morzine, it's about 1h15 of driving. I know well Avoriaz, it has a nice begginers area and of course the ESF (french skiing school) offers classes there. The best option is probably a group lesson for a whole day (maybe for several days if you don't have any riding experience) :

Have fun !
