Spyware scam?

Hi

I seem to have been invaded by " Smart Internet Protection 2011"  that has been all over my internet search and computer.

They seem to me like a scam and would appreciate it if anyone knows about them and would advise me on how to get rid of them.

Thanks

C.

Google says "Smart Internet Protection 2011 is a dangerous malware application that will try to push you into giving your money for scammers. No, it won’t clearly say so, but it will definitely try to make you think that your PC is infected and only its licensed version can help with removal."

How to remove: http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-smart-internet-protection-2011.html

Another way to remove if the first one didn't work: http://www.2-viruses.com/remove-smart-internet-protection-2011

You can do online scans at www.trendmicro.com (Housecall) to remove your fake antivirus.

There are real ones at:

http://www.sophos.com

http://www.f-secure.com/en_UK/

Microsoft's free 'Windows Defender' or 'Microsoft Security Essentials' is good, too.
