Stolen Btwin Rockrider 500 bike

Hello. This post is probably pointless but I was rather in love with this bike and was going to get married to it some day.

It was nicked from outside the Clubhouse in Paquis last night - anyone know if there's any point reporting it in the hope that the cops find it and apprehend the sweet and tender hooligan who took it, or is that just a waste of my time and theirs?

Otherwise I guess I check the fourrieres and the petites-annonces. Bit of a hassle though.

Cheers!

Paul

Bad luck Paul - you do the right thing and ride your bike to the pub and some lowlife grabs it...wouldn't you like to get your hands on them....

(PS I wonder what the bridemaids would have looked like !!)

Sadly I think that me getting my hands on them would soon turn into them getting their hands on me.

If they give it back, they can be bridesmaids.

Your thwarted wedding plans remind me of a quip by Anthony Powell after a night with a famous (at the time) star of the international cat-walks:  “Never again, it was like making love to a bicycle”.

Unfortunately I heard that bike stealing is quite a frequent matter here... Sorry some jerk got between you and your other half! I hate to imagine the angst you're in, even if you neglectfully left your bike outside like that, all alone, in the cold... it's not a cat, Paul. It needs warm hugs and love.

Might have not bothered getting insurance...

Ritchie, my Rockrider was fantastic in bed so I'm surprised Powell didn't intend it as a compliment.

You're right Ewa. I've cold-heartedly already moved on to a new model but will vow not to treat this one as an object just for riding.

Everyone knows that in Geneva, Velo and scooters get stollen all the time.

You must either lock them or just expect they will disapear, especially next to a bar on a weekend. Pleople like to save a Cab/taxi fair. During the summer, its lakeside they joy ride and throw it in the river.

Your 'Assurance Menage' should cover the stolen bike.

Here is a place that collects lost/stolen bikes, where you can also report lost bikes:

http://www.fourriere-velo-ge.ch/

http://www.fourriere-velo-ge.ch/v%C3%A9lo-vol%C3%A9.html

And you can find cheep bikes at:

http://www.geneveroule.ch/drupal/en/node/47

http://www.englishforum.ch/commercial/201628-new-used-bikes-sale-geneva.html

(oh, I like the pink one with the leather seat and grips :)

http://www.geneva.info/bike/

Also I seen many bikes at Cash Converters
